How to have all the summer fun …

…and still feel great about your health and fitness 💪🏽🍉

Summer in New England is something we all look forward to for MONTHS. Once it’s here the plans start rolling in, weekend travel commences and the cookouts and beach days pile up! All of which are so much fun and why would anyone want to miss out on that?! I know I sure don’t. One of the biggest questions I get is, “How do I fit working out and eating healthy into my routine without sacrificing time enjoying Summer?” My answer is: make it simple, make it a priority and remember that the better you treat your body, the better you’ll feel and the more fun you’ll have!

Here are some tips to help you find balance:

☀️PLAN AHEAD: Taking just 5 minutes out of your Sunday summer fun to plan ahead for your week will make all the difference this summer. Jot down the days you have time to get to the gym and the days you’ll take a walk outside instead. Plan out what you want to eat that week while you’re heading home from your weekend get-away. Stop at the grocery store before you even get home so that you won’t be raiding the cabinets when you walk in. Pack healthy snacks for your weekend travel, hikes or beach days. Some of my go-to’s are RX bars, clementines, raw pistachios or a perfect bar. These small things will add up to big results!

☀️ MAKE MOVEMENT A PRIORITY: Make a commitment to yourself that you will get just 30 minutes of movement in each day. It will make all the difference, I promise! Pre-schedule your gym classes on Sunday night, that way the week doesn’t get away from you before you think about fitness. Take a walk with a coworker at lunch instead of having lunch inside. Go on a bike ride or a beach walk with family and friends during your summer getaways. Work with a trainer at the club or virtually for extra accountability.

☀️HYDRATE: Water is the key to EVERYTHING! Take your water bottle with you wherever you go. Drinking a lot of water will help you stay energized, hydrated and fight off sugar cravings.  😊💦.

☀️ EAT FRESH: Eat what’s in season and what you can find fresh. Strawberries, kiwi, watermelon, corn, and summer squash are just a few of the awesome fruits & veggies that are in season. Trade out your packaged meats for the fresh catch of the day at your local supermarket. Making these simple swaps will leave you feeling energized and satisfied.

To help you all feel like your best selves this summer I’ve created a No-Fuss Summer Recipe Book and Meal Guide. All of the recipes take less than 30 minutes to make, so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time having fun. The recipe ingredients are inspired by the flavors of summer and are designed to be a healthier spin on popular summer recipes. Click here for a sneak peak of the recipes 🤫.

Wishing you all the best summer yet 🍓🍉💪🏽✨💕! Remember to keep it simple and make it a priority – you won’t regret it.
