Happy Summer, I hope it is off to a great start for all of you!
The longer summer days and warmer weather definitely help inspire us all to move a little bit more! Lately I’ve been chatting with a lot of people who feel like they want to move more but have said they’ve felt lost when starting to workout because they feel like it has to be this perfect formula. They are worried that if they do not do it a certain way or stick to an exact style of workout that they won’t see results and they will fail. They’ve also mentioned that it almost paralyzes them from starting because they do not know where to begin. One of my friends was having a very similar issue so we decided to test it out together. At first we wrote out a workout plan together and decided what she was going to do each day. After a few weeks of trying we realized that didn’t work great for her. Instead of giving up we tried a different approach and had her actually book her classes on her Fitness Unlimited App and start with 3 classes. She was beyond excited when she realized it was actually working for her. She decided to do a mix of cycle and yoga classes to start which are a great combo because she is getting her cardio in as well as strengthening and stretching her muscles via yoga. After consistently attending classes 3 days a week she found it easier to start adding more workouts in!
If you are struggling with starting to workout, I hope this helps give you some inspiration! Nothing about starting has to be perfect!
