Thank you so much for your support as we continue to weather the COVID-19 storm. We officially opened Monday, July 6th. Since December 26th, our capacity has been restricted to 25% which we monitor daily.  It still allows many members to come in and enjoy a safe experience.  We received our guidelines and are making sure we comply.

During this time, we have been stocking our club with hospital–grade disinfecting sprays, wipes, and equipment.   While every member of our team will be working to keep our clubs clean and sanitary, we need your support as well in creating a safe space. We have made some updates to our Club Rules and Etiquette.

Safety Protocols

Since December 26th, 2020, our capacity has been restricted to 25% which is not a problem. There is still plenty of space and times for members to come in and safely workout. We have received our guidelines and are following completely. The word from our members who have used the club is "the club is spotless and I feel comfortable and safe working out."

During this time, we have been stocking our club with hospital–grade disinfecting sprays, wipes, and equipment.   While every member of our team will be working to keep our clubs clean and sanitary, we need your support as well in creating a safe space. We have made some updates to our Club Rules and Etiquette.

Club Policy Update

We are committed to ensuring the highest safety standards for our members and our team to return to a clean and safe environment. In doing so, we need your help. Below are a few additions to our Club Rules and Etiquette. Please follow the below guidelines when you visit the club.

STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK 

Studies suggest that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are asymptomatic. Please do not come to the club if you have a fever, a cough, shortness of breath, or even just feel run down. Please don't take a chance - stay home until you feel better. Do not use the club if you have had contact with a person who has or is suspected of having COVID-19.

Upon entering, you will be required to fill out a Waiver Addendum. We will also take your temperature each and every time you enter the club. You will not be allowed to use the club if your temperature reads 100.4 or greater.

 

MASK - FACE COVERING

Per Governor Baker, masks are required in the club at all times. while working out.  You must agree to comply with all local regulations related to wearing a mask while exercising indoors.

 

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

Please keep 6 feet between yourself and other members or staff while in the clubs.

DISINFECTING EQUIPMENT

Upon entering you will be required to sanitize your hands. While working out, you will be required to disinfect all equipment before and after use. Throughout the club, you will find disinfectant wipes to use on the equipment. As you enter, you will pick up your own personal disinfectant bottle to keep with you while you workout. Once your workout is complete, we ask that you return to the front desk so that we may disinfect it and get it ready for the next person.

(Note: please throw the disinfectant wipes in trash cans only. They will destroy our plumbing if thrown in the toilets.)

 

ONLINE RESERVATIONS

Our capacity restriction is now 25%. Currently, you only need to sign up for Group Fitness Classes. Our "Open Gym" which includes the cardio and weight areas have been well below the 25% limit so you can just show up for those areas.

For the time being, think of Fitness Unlimited as the largest boutique fitness club in the area! Like other boutiques, you will need to sign up for all group fitness classes.  Please go to the section on Group Fitness so that you understand the Group Fitness Policy for sign ups, cancellations and no shows.

For Group Fitness Classes, you will be able to sign up for your workout two days ahead. We ask that you only schedule yourself in for one workout a day so that all members can have a chance to enjoy the club. We also ask that if you can't make it in, you cancel out of the class so that someone else can take your spot.

As we move into 2021, we continue to ask for patience and cooperation. We will revise our class schedule and change hours as attendance increases. 

 

Cleaning Protocols

Our Member Service Team cleans every hour to disinfect high touch surfaces and equipment. All disinfectant products are medical–grade and are shown effective in EPA listings related to COVID and other viruses. We have purchased a cordless fogger mister in order to disinfect large surfaces throughout the day.  Every afternoon from 12-2 our cleaning company comes in and disinfects the entire club.  In addition, our cleaning company fogs the club on a nightly basis. Our main job is to keep our members and staff safe and feeling comfortable.

As you enter the club to workout in the cardio or weight area, you will pick up your own personal disinfectant spray bottle which you will keep with you throughout your workout. We ask that you wipe down all equipment before and after use. You will then drop the spray bottle off at the front desk so that the staff can disinfect it for the next person.

In addition, we have set up disinfectant stations in workout areas which will include wipes, purell, disinfectant spray, and paper towels.

 

Our staff will disinfect all group fitness equipment between classes. In order to make this happen, classes will be scheduled a minimum of 30 minutes apart. All members will be required to sign up online for all group fitness classes. All fitness studios will be stocked with disinfectant stations for members to do their own cleaning as well.

We have placed hand sanitizer dispensers and bottles around the club. Members and staff are required to use sanitizer entering the club and throughout their time in the club. Upon completing a workout, it is recommended that you wash your hands with soap and water.

We have placed disinfectant wipes in many locations throughout the club. Members are asked to disinfect equipment before and after each use.

Additional Information

To ensure the safest possible environment for our members and staff, we will be limiting club hours upon initial reopening. We will look at our hours week to week.

Monday - Thursday 5:15am - 8:00pm

Friday - 5:15am - 6:00pm

Saturday & Sunday 7:00am - 2:00pm

 

We are restricted to 50% capacity in the club at one time. Currently there is no sign up for either the weight or cardio room. You may show up because we are running at 20% capacity. We are keeping a close eye on this and will change to a sign up if we need to.

All members will be required to sign up through the Member Portal for all Group Fitness Classes.

Group Fitness: You will be able to sign up for your workout the day ahead. We ask that you only schedule yourself in for one workout a day so that all members can have a chance to enjoy the club. We also ask that if you can't make it in, you let us know so that someone else can take your spot. When signing up through your online Member Portal, be patient. It takes a few minutes to get you from a to z.

 

As of October 5th, we were given permission to open our locker room at 50%.

*We ask that you follow social distancing at all times in the locker room and use the disinfectant spray and towels to wipe down your locker and dressing room after use. In addition, masks must be worn at all times in the locker room except when showering.

The steam and sauna will not be available until Phase 4.

We ask that you show up ready to exercise with as little as possible - a sweat towel or two and water. We will provide exercise mats but encourage you to bring your own.  Please note that we will no longer offer a lost and found.

Childcare will remain closed until further notice. Members who paid for childcare will not be charged until it reopens and only if you let us know you want to use it. You do not need to contact us in order for this to happen.

Personal Training is available either in person, outdoors, or virtually.  We have been busy creating new programming in Small Group Format called "In Your Space Training" where you will "own" your equipment. There will be no sharing or circuit style training during Phase 3. (Look for MetLift & Kettlebell Core Programs)

Our Pilates Reformer Studio is open and we have redesigned the space for social distancing. Each space will include the reformer, the chair, and any props needed for the session. All equipment will be sanitized prior to use by the trainer.

Face masks must be worn at all times in the club including during exercise.

 

We are asking all members to maintain a 6-foot distance between themselves and others in the club. We have added lines six feet apart in our lobby for our check in process and separated equipment. Our staff will help members maintain distance as well.

 

You may purchase a day pass ($15) to use either the Cardio Room or Weight Room. Our Group Fitness Program is currently reserved for members.

We are currently offering an 8 Week Membership for $99 .

Water Fountains will be closed unless they have a spout to fill a water bottle. We will continue to sell our bottled water.

 

We have changed our air filters and vacuumed all vents throughout the club. Our large HVAC unit provides for fresh air exchange.  Fans will not be in use during Phase 3.

Group Exercise

Yes! 2021 Winter Update: We continue to hold a combination of indoor and live streamed classes through Vimeo each week.

Indoor Group Fitness Classes: We will be holding all indoor group fitness classes in Studio 1 and 3. The ceilings are high and the air flow is great. You will be required to sign up two days prior for your spot.  When you sign up for class, you agree to either attend or remove yourself from class within 2 hours of the class start time. Any member who no shows or late cancels will be automatically charged a $5 fee. This is non negotiable since we now have to limit the class size and members won't be around to jump in.

Yoga Classes: There will be no hands on assists and club props will not be used in class. You are more than welcome to bring your own props from home.  We encourage that you bring your own mat for both yoga and pilates.

  • All equipment will be disinfected between classes. All equipment will be set up for you.
  • We ask for your patience as we rebuild our club after a long shut down.
  • For phase 3, please think of Fitness Unlimited as a large boutique fitness club. Like all boutique clubs, you will be required to register for each workout you do. Your classes will be smaller and more intimate.

Yes! There are two ways you can take advantage of our Virtual Membership

  • It will be an added feature with your membership. Anyone who pays full dues or has a valid prepaid membership will receive a password that will allow you to view our video library.
  • We will sell a virtual membership only for $30 per month. This will include:
    • Our On Demand Video Library
    • Live Streamed Classes from the studio
    • It will not include outdoor classes

We have marked spots in our Studio for social distancing.   Our team will disinfect all equipment after each class.

Studio 3 has been set up with social distancing boxes. We currently can allow 15 members plus the instructor in Studio 3 and 14 plus an instructor in Studio 1.  We ask each member to stay in her designated workout area during each class.

To ensure appropriate space, all members must register for classes in advance through our web site or app.

Sign Up Procedures

  • 2 Days Prior: You may call during business hours or sign up online through the website or our app for any class occurring the next day.
  • If calling you must speak directly with an employee (617-698-0260). Voice mail and/or email messages will not be accepted.
  • For the time being we ask that you only sign up for one class per day.

Indoor Classes

  • Check-In ten minutes prior to class through the Member Service Desk. Make sure you are checked off before heading to the studio. If you are late to class, your spot may be given away if someone from the wait list is here. Please do not arrive earlier than ten minutes ahead for class. At this time, congregating is not permitted.
  • Masks are mandatory and will need to be worn over the mouth and nose throughout the class.

Cancellation Policy

  • We require a minimum of a 2-hour notice to cancel. We now need more time to fill the spot because we no longer have members waiting at the club to see if a spot is available. You will be charged a $5 late cancellation fee if you cancel within the 2 hour window.
  • To cancel, you must either call and speak directly to a staff member or remove yourself online. An email or voicemail to a staff person will not be accepted.
  • If you no show for a class you will be charged a $5 fee.

Waitlist Policy

  • Please check your emails often to see if you get into class. We will add you as the spots become available. Within the two hours, we will call you.  Be sure to check off TEXT in your member profile for class notifications.
  • Please check to make sure we have your most up to date contact information on file.
  • By signing up for the waitlist you are committing to the class if you get in unless it is within the 2 hour mark.

Our cancellation policy will be strictly enforced.

How to set up your Online Member Portal account: 

  • Go to www.fitnessunlimited.com and hit Member Log In – If new, use your email on file as your user name and create a password. Be sure to download our app.

To register for a class:

  • Pick the class you are looking for and click REGISTER.
  • If you are on the wait list, it will let you know.

To cancel out of a class that does not require payment:

  • Go to Schedule and hit cancel.

 

Membership Billing

Fitness Unlimited started billing normal monthly dues once we opened in July. All active memberships now include the Virtual Membership, Indoor Group Fitness Classes, and Open Gym - cardio and weight rooms.

As a small business, we need your support more than ever right now. Even if you are not ready to come back, please consider keeping your membership active and taking part in our virtual membership featuring your favorite instructors.

It is your responsibility to manage your account. We require a 15 day written notice to either cancel or place a hold on your account.

Prepaid One Year Memberships will reactivate the day we open; we will add on the number of days we were closed to the end of your current contract end date.  Your membership will now include the Virtual Membership, Outdoor and Indoor Group Fitness Classes and Open Gym - cardio and weight rooms.
